There are two ways to draw 3D objects in Vectary.
In Object mode, you can place parametric 3D shapes and change every parameter in the setting in the right panel. The settings can be changed anytime during the creative process as soon as you bake the geometry - this means the parametric functions will be transformed into the 3D geometry, which you can continue editing in the Edit mode.


In Edit mode, you can draw 3D shapes from scratch, but once you finish drawing, you can't change the parameters as quickly as in the Object mode.

How to draw parametric 3D shapes 

1. Go to Object tab and hover over the "Primitives" and pick a shape you what to work with.

2. In the right panel change parameters of the shape.

3. Apply other parametric tools to adjust the shape or "bake the geometry" and continue editing in the Edit mode.

How to draw a box

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW BOX function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you'll shape a rectangle.
  4. Click again and move your mouse up to finish the shape of the box.
  5. Now a gizmo appears with which you can change the width, height, depth, and add segments. 

How to draw a sphere

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW SPHERE function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you adjust the sphere size.
  4. Click again and a gizmo appears. Now you can edit the radius, height segments and width segments. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.

How to draw a cylinder

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW CYLINDER function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you'll shape a circle.
  4. Click again and move your mouse up to finish the shape of the cylinder.
  5. Click once more and a gizmo appears with which you can change the height, radius, height and radial segments, and open the ends of the cylinder. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.

How to draw a tube

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW TUBE function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you’ll shape a circle with a hole.
  4. Click again and move your mouse to adjust the size of the hole.
  5. Click once more and move your mouse up to finish the shape of the tube.
  6. When you click again, a gizmo appears with which you can change the height, outer radius, inner radius, wall segments, radial segments, and height segments. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.

How to draw a cone

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW CONE function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you'll shape a circle.
  4. Click again and move your mouse up to add a third dimension.
  5. When you click again, a gizmo appears with which you can change the height, radius, height and radial segments, and open or close ends. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.

How to draw a polyhedron

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW POLYHEDRON function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you'll shape a polyhedron.
  4. When you click again, a gizmo appears with which you can change the radius and subdivide. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.

How to draw a torus

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Select the DRAW TORUS function.
  3. Click on the grid and, as you move your mouse, you'll shape a ring.
  4. Click once more to shape the size of its tube.
  5. When you click again, a gizmo appears with which you can change the tube and ring radius, and add tube and ring segments. When you’re done, click anywhere on the scene to confirm your drawing.
