How to set units in Vectary (inches or mm)

  1. Click on the upper left menu and then click on the Settings panel.
  2. Under Units, select mm or inches.

How to find out the size of the 3D object, face or line

  1. In the Vectary editor, go to Settings.
  2. Next, enter the Edit mode by double clicking on any object. 
  3. Enable the "Selecting bounding box" and "Dimensions" options.
  4. The bounding box will measure all of the selected items.

How to move 3D objects, faces, lines and points by a specific amount

  1. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  2. Select an object or part of an object.
  3. Drag the gizmo’s colored arrows or white circle and the dimensions with the size will appear. You can now see the exact size as you drag the gizmo, or you can type in the desired value. To do so, click on the dimension, rewrite the size and confirm it with Enter.

Note: To move faces, lines and points, you need to enter the Edit mode first - double click on any object and then select the item.

How to rotate 3D objects to a specific angle

  1. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  2. Select an object or part of an object.
  3. Drag the gizmo’s colored curves and a box with the dimensions of the rotating angle will appear. Now you can see the exact size of the angle as you drag the gizmo or you can type in the desired value. To do so, click on the dimension, rewrite the size and confirm it with Enter.

Note: To move faces and lines, you need to enter the Edit mode first - double click on any object and then select the item.

How to scale a 3D object, face or line to an exact size

  1. Select the object or part of the object.
  2. Hover over the small grey cube that is further from the tip of the arrow and the text “proportional scale” appears. Click on the cube and enter the value for the scaling of the object proportionally, in all directions. Tip1: Select the line and define the length with dimensions.

Note: To scale faces or lines, you need to enter the Edit mode first- double click on any object and then select the item.

How to scale a 3D object to an exact size in one direction

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  3. Select the object or part of the object.
  4. Hover over the small colored cube that is closer to the tip of the arrow and the word “scale” appears. Click on the cube and enter the value for the scaling of the object in one direction.

How to scale a 3D object to an exact size in two directions

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  3. Select the object or part of the object.
  4. Hover over the small grey cube on the grey arrow and the text “scale in 2 axes” appears. Click on the cube and enter the value for the scaling of the object proportionally, in two directions.

How to draw lines to an exact size

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  3. Select the Draw Lines tool from the bottom toolbar.
  4. Now you can see the exact size of your line as you are drawing. You can also pre-define the size of your line - click on the dimensions, rewrite the value and confirm it with Enter.

How to extrude faces or lines to an exact size

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in the left panel.
  2. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  3. Select an object or part of an object.
  4. Press SHIFT and drag the gizmo arrows or white shapes, and the dimensions with the size will appear. You can now see the exact size as you drag the gizmo, or you can type in the desired value. To do so, click on the dimensions, rewrite the size and confirm it with Enter.

How to bevel faces and lines to an exact size

  1. Enter the Edit mode - double click on any object or start from scratch - add a new object in left panel.
  2. Activate Dimensions in the Settings panel.
  3. Select an object or part of an object and then click the Bevel tool in the toolbar.
  4. Drag the gizmo arrows and dimensions will appear. You can now see the exact number as you drag the gizmo, or you can type in the desired value. To do so, click on the dimension, rewrite the number and confirm it with Enter.
