VECTARY integrates the Noun Project to provide 3D icons to every designer
VECTARY — the free, online 3D modeling tool and platform — is proud to bring you its very first app integration with the Noun Project, one of the largest online libraries of icons in the world.
Our first app integration with the Noun Project is now official. An LA-based website, the Noun Project catalogs a big collection of 2D icons and symbols updated daily by designers around the world. With over 10 million downloads so far and more than 700.000 symbols, it is the go-to resource if you’re a designer or simply interested in using symbols in your work or home projects.
Built as a new plugin, the integration enables you to import directly into VECTARY (as .svg files) thousands of 2D icons from the Noun Project, for free, and instantly turn them into 3D models ready for 3D printing.
This is going to remove many of the common barriers that usually come with learning to 3D model and it will help new users get on board our tool more easily.
The integration of the Noun Project will also allow a younger audience to play around in VECTARY and see great, immediate results. All you need to do is log in to VECTARY, go to Plugins and select the Noun Project plugin. Search for whatever icon you like and, with one click, it will automatically appear on the scene as a 3D model. You can modify it further or 3D print it as it is, it’s up to you.
We built VECTARY to be a flexible tool and platform so we can easily integrate all sorts of features from other different apps. We plan to add many useful plugins like this one in the near future to help make your 3D modeling even easier.
We will also launch plans for business for those who want to use their models commercially. Give our newest plugin a try today!
