Opening the doors to Vectary platform and workflows

Vectary: Can you share a bit about the decision-making process behind choosing Vectary?

Michal: When we first looked at Vectary, we didn't realize it could be used for our house model because it is not only large, but it has many complex details. That was a pleasant surprise.

Before that, we also did our research and honestly, there were no other right alternatives for us. We even consulted with some other companies. One of them told us they could do almost everything, but it would cost €30,000 just for the setup. Other options were very simple and not for professional use.

Vectary: So the expensive alternative would have been overkill for what you needed?

Michal: Yes, it would have been like buying a Ferrari when you only need a truck. It was designed for extremely complex buildings with interactive districts and towers where you can go through the building and see all the wiring details. We don't need a Bugatti - we need a strong pickup truck that does the job well.

Vectary: Are you still using architectural 3D software or CAD software and importing into Vectary?

Michal: Vectary has been completely integrated in our workflow. As architects and developers, we used to get delayed when having to make changes to CAD models. Now we can use Vectary to make updates and export only the modified sections. There's no need to wait for the final concept. We wish we'd known sooner how easy it is to implement for promotional purposes and then just update later!

Vectary: How long did it take from when you started working with Vectary to the point where it was ready to show to customers?

Michal: It's hard to say precisely. To make it perfect, I think less than four weeks. We still want to add more features to make it customized, which might make it six to eight weeks in total. That's not because of Vectary - but due to our own operations.

From 3D product design to a functional AR tool

Vectary: What new business opportunities has this opened up for you?

Michal: Simply put, it has provided an innovative solution to hundreds of potential real estate agents.

It's better not to get lost in details but to place the building in the environment where you want to live. That's the point. We're counting on real estate agents using this when showing plots: "You can't build a regular house here, but look - I've got this solution on my phone. We can try it right here. You can have this building immediately, or in one month they can bring and deploy it here, and you can start living on this spot."

Vectary: So AR helped you create that emotional connection for the buyer?

Michal: Yes, it did! People are more likely to say yes to something if they have an emotional connection to it. With Augmented Reality, you can imagine it immediately, and that makes people feel more comfortable with making a purchase decision.

You can test-drive a car, but you can't "test" a building on a plot. And our buildings are too big to have physical mock-ups that can be easily transported to different locations. So AR is like a test drive.

It is very close to having a digital twin, but in your pocket. And we plan to add features like turning lights on and off or changing interior parts, to make it better and even more exact.

Vectary: Do you see any other applications for the future?

Michal: In the next phase, we want to have our flagship product as an interactive model on our site for our customers to be able to change the color and the design of the box, add extras like two terraces in the front, or choose different interiors. We want to make it customized and more personalized when people are browsing the site and deciding whether this is the right option for them.
"When working with sustainability and design it is guaranteed that you will explore new ways of communicating, of sharing ideas, and making decisions, all of which lead you toward using 3D and AR.”
